Richmond, county seat of Wayne County, was founded in 1806 by John Smith and Jeremiah Cox and incorporated as a Village in 1818.  Many of the early settlers belonged to the Society of Friends          ( Quakers).Richmond is a city of 50,000 people ( time of printing of postcard ).  Home of Earlham College
